The Jogorku Kenesh approved in the second reading the bill on reducing the storage periods for borrowers' credit information.

- At the plenary session held on March 11, 2026, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh discussed and approved the draft law "On Amendments to the Law on Credit Information Exchange" in the second reading.

The initiator of this draft law was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The main goal of the proposed changes is to reduce the storage periods for borrowers' credit information, which will facilitate easier access to loans, reduce the burden on the banking sector, and support the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

The development of this draft law is aimed at improving legislation in the field of credit information.

Taking into account the comments received from the deputies, the draft law proposes to reduce the overall storage period for negative credit history from five to two years, and for positive history from seven to five years.
