The president emphasized the need to reduce the country's dependence on imports.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, President Sadyr Japarov urged the Ministry of Health and other government structures to prioritize local products. He stressed that supporting domestic producers should become a priority for the Cabinet of Ministers.
Deputy Aigul Karabekova raised the issue of syringe production in Kyrgyzstan, noting that the share of local products in government procurement is small.
In response, Japarov reminded that a few years ago, the government supported this production by providing an interest-free loan. "Now the enterprise operates steadily and produces about 500,000 syringes, but only a small portion of this production reaches the domestic market," he noted and instructed the Minister of Health to explore the possibility of further supporting local producers to reduce dependence on foreign goods.
"It is important that attention is paid to local products throughout the republic. This concerns everyone: ministries, deputies, and construction organizations," he added.
