Tokaev congratulated Kazakhstanis on the adoption of the new Constitution
The president also highlighted the record-high voter turnout and expressed gratitude to everyone who came to the polling stations and voiced their civic position. "We have demonstrated to the whole world the political culture of our society. Unity is life and prosperity! In unity lies the strength of the country! To achieve the status of a progressive and competitive state, we must maintain peace and friendship, as well as show patience, creativity, and responsibility," emphasized Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the president, the new Constitution, supported by the people, will become an important guideline for the development of Kazakhstan. "This is the foundation of our independence and sovereignty, as well as an unshakeable guarantee of human rights and freedoms. As a united nation, we have taken a decisive step towards creating a just society where law and order are the main principles," he noted, adding that today a new page in the country's history has been opened.
Tokayev also emphasized the upcoming large-scale work necessary for the implementation of deep transformations and expressed confidence in the support of the people of Kazakhstan. "By uniting efforts for common interests, we can leave a progressive Kazakhstan for future generations. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the youth for their active participation in the referendum! Our sacred independence must live forever! May our beloved Republic of Kazakhstan prosper! I congratulate everyone on the adoption of the new Constitution!" the president concluded.
Earlier, the results of exit polls following the republican referendum on the new Constitution were published. According to the data from the Eurasian Integration Institute, 86.7% of voters expressed support for its adoption. A survey by the "Sociis-A" institute showed that 87.4% support the new Constitution, while the results of the exit poll by the Institute of Public Policy indicate that 88.6% of respondents approve of it.
