Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia Agree on Mutual Extradition. Law Signed

President Sadyr Japarov has signed a law concerning the ratification of the extradition treaty, which was concluded on July 21, 2025, in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the president's administration.

According to the law, which was approved by the Jogorku Kenesh on February 19, 2026, Kyrgyzstan is carrying out the necessary internal procedures for the treaty with Mongolia to come into force.

This treaty outlines the process for submitting and reviewing extradition requests, the conditions under which extradition may be denied, issues of temporary detention of individuals, as well as the specifics of executing requests depending on the stage of the criminal case. It aims to enhance cooperation in the field of international criminal law and strengthen interaction in the area of extraditing offenders.

The law will come into effect ten days after its official publication.
