- On March 18, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce summarized the results of the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council.

This meeting took place on March 13, 2026.

Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU Coordination Department at the Ministry of Economy, reported on key decisions concerning the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main topics of discussion were technical regulations on the safety of certain goods and the labeling of confectionery products.

According to the head of the department, there is currently no mandatory requirement for the implementation of labeling at the level of all five states within the EAEU. For example, if one of the states decides to introduce labeling for a specific product, it simply informs the EEC and makes the corresponding proposal.

"Russia has made a decision regarding the labeling of confectionery products. This technical regulation provides Kyrgyzstan with the opportunity to label goods intended for export to Russia independently. Otherwise, without such a mechanism, businesses would have to incur additional costs for labeling in Russia," added Elimbek Kanybek uulu.
