Media delegation from Kyrgyzstan visited Tajikistan

During a five-day press tour dedicated to the Navruz holiday, a group of more than 20 representatives of the media from Kyrgyzstan visited Tajikistan. This visit marked a significant step in strengthening cultural and professional dialogue between the two countries and was a practical embodiment of the agreements reached during the state visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Tajikistan on July 8-9, 2025.

One of the significant stops on the delegation's route was the Hissar Fortress, located just 30 kilometers from Dushanbe. This ancient citadel, with a three-thousand-year history, once served as the residence of the governor of the Bukhara emir and today symbolizes historical diplomacy. Historians reminded the delegates that it was here, in 329 BC, that the locals put up fierce resistance against Alexander the Great, forcing him to change his conquest tactics and turn to a strategy of unification. The legend of his marriage to Roxana states: "If a people cannot be conquered by force, one must become relatives." These historical lessons remain relevant in the modern context, emphasizing the importance of good neighborliness.

The goals of the visit included exchanging experiences with leading media outlets in Tajikistan, establishing direct contacts in the media sector, and exploring the cultural heritage of the region. As noted by one journalist, strengthening such ties contributes to the development of all aspects of bilateral relations. The trip coincided with the large-scale celebration of Navruz, which lasts a whole week in Tajikistan. Kyrgyz journalists witnessed vibrant theatrical performances, got acquainted with national crafts, and appreciated the variety of traditional dishes, which once again confirmed the commonality of cultural traditions among the peoples of Central Asia.

Event organizers emphasize that such visits continue the trend of rapprochement envisioned by the leaders of the states. The meeting of the presidents in Khujand last year and the signing of peace agreements at the borders have laid a solid foundation for active humanitarian cooperation, of which this media tour is a part.
