Representatives of the OJSC explained that many are wondering why, despite the presence of special equipment, problems with flights continue. "International airlines follow their internal regulations, and even with good visibility, the decision to land or delay is made by the pilot. Currently, visibility is more than 1,000 meters," they added.
It is worth noting that a modern Category III (CAT III) light signaling system was previously installed at the airport. "This system allows for the arrival and departure of aircraft in heavy fog and low visibility, significantly reducing the likelihood of delays and cancellations, as well as increasing the resilience of air traffic," the company stated earlier.
