
Zhakypov Zhilkychi Turganbaevich
Painter. Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Born in 1957 in the village of Chon-Sary-Oy, Issyk-Kul District, Issyk-Kul Region. In 1977, he graduated from the Frunze Art School and in 1984 - from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. In 1989, he interned in France. In 1986-1987, he was a scholarship holder of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Zhakypov Zhilkychi is one of the significant Kyrgyz artists contributing greatly to the development of national visual arts.
Since 1988, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Participant in republican, nationwide, and international exhibitions. The main works of Z. Zhakypov are kept in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in museums of the CIS countries and abroad, as well as in private collections.
