The ‘Manas’ airport has implemented a modern navigation system that allows aircraft to land even in dense fog conditions.
According to a statement from the press service of OJSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan," this system is currently operating in test mode.
“Some airlines adhere to strict internal safety rules. For example, landing is not permitted when visibility is below 800 meters, regardless of the technical capabilities of the airport. In such situations, crews decide to divert to alternate airports. Meanwhile, Russian airlines can land with visibility of 300–400 meters using this navigation system,” the company added.
