
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in 2025, the gross output of farmers in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 2.2 percent higher than in 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee.
The main factor in this positive trend was the growth of livestock, which increased by 4 percent, while crop production showed only a slight increase of 0.2 percent.

Production indicators for livestock and poultry for slaughter increased by 3.6 percent, milk by 3.2 percent, and wool by 1.4 percent. A particularly noticeable increase was observed in egg production, which rose by 18.7 percent.

Challenges in Crop Production and Climate Issues
In 2025, the sown area amounted to 1 million 245.6 thousand hectares, which is 0.1 percent less than last year.
The sector faced serious challenges, such as dry spring and summer months and a lack of irrigation water, which negatively affected grain yields.
As a result, farmers harvested 1 million 800 thousand tons of grain, which is 14.2 percent less than in 2024. The regions of Chui, Talas, and Batken were particularly affected.

Nevertheless, the increase in corn production (by 5.1 percent), rice (by 17 percent), and vegetables (by 11.3 percent) helped maintain the overall gross harvest of crop production at 100.2 percent.
Cooperation and Government Support
Last year saw an increase in the number of farmers' cooperatives: their number rose from 753 to 821, and the area of cultivated land reached 55 thousand 454 hectares.
