
According to information presented at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev reported that by the end of 2030, 48 small hydropower plants are planned to be commissioned in Kyrgyzstan, with a total capacity of 420.8 MW.
Furthermore, the minister noted that since 2021, 27 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 109.8 MW have already been commissioned in the country, which has allowed for the production of 427 million kWh of electricity annually.
