At the meeting, a speaker of the parliament was elected, the structure of work was approved, and vice-speakers and committee chairs were appointed.
During the session, five deputy groups were formed: "Ata-Jurt," "Ala-Too," "Mekenchil," "Eldik," and "Adilet Kyrgyzstan." Three deputies did not join any groups: Elvira Surabaldiyeva (district No. 23), Eruulan Kokulov (district No. 28), and Bolot Ibragimov (district No. 22).
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu (district No. 15) was elected as the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh. This is not his first time holding this position, as he previously served as speaker in the 7th convocation.

The first vice-speaker became Chyngyz Ajibayev (district No. 1).

Eight committees have been formed in the Jogorku Kenesh:
Kurmankul Zulyshev (district No. 10), nominated from the "Mekenchil" group, became the chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations.
