“It is important for them to have as many clients as possible”
In an interview with the Kabar agency, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, expressed his opinion on the current situation with private driving schools and the reforms being implemented in the field of driver training.
He noted that the administration is actively working to bring order to this area at his request.
Japarov emphasized that reforms in driver training and vehicle registration have not been carried out since Soviet times, and the system has become mired in corruption. “Almost all leaders were involved in corrupt schemes,” he added.
The president also reported that now the country is producing its own state license plates, driver's licenses, and technical passports. “Previously, all of this was purchased abroad. Many doubted our capabilities, but we managed. All information is now stored in a digitized database,” he clarified.
Furthermore, Japarov noted that it is now time to pay attention to driving schools, which, unfortunately, do not always provide quality training. “They are only interested in profit and the number of clients. Unlike private schools, state driving schools offer modern equipment, qualified instructors, and a technical base,” the president concluded.
