Elite cars, cryptocurrency, and over 150 million tenge have been seized from the suspects, reports Orda.kz.
The Almaty Department of Financial Monitoring is conducting an investigation into a criminal group that illegally launched and promoted the online casino 1Win.
“The organizers created an extensive network of companies registered under fictitious names. Players were offered access to more than 11,000 gambling games and sports betting, including esports. Money was accepted through bank cards, electronic platforms, and cryptocurrency,” the agency noted.
The suspects have been placed on an international wanted list. The court issued an in absentia arrest of the suspects and ordered the confiscation of their property. The confiscated items included cars such as the Mercedes Maybach S500, Lamborghini Huracan, and Toyota Land Cruiser, as well as cash: 151 million tenge, 14,600 US dollars, and 44,400 euros.
The total amount of the confiscation exceeded 420 million tenge. All seized property has been transferred to the state treasury.
It was previously reported that over 600 billion tenge was withdrawn through underground online casinos in Kazakhstan. The scheme involved "gray" terminals, fictitious contracts with bookmakers, and payment systems, and also included employees from banks and a call center with 120 people from five countries. The turnover in cryptocurrency exceeded 200 million dollars.
