Toyota has revived the classic Land Cruiser FJ60

The heart of the Toyota Turbo Trail Cruiser is a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 i-Force engine, capable of producing 389 hp and 650 Nm of torque. This value is nearly double the power of the original "six" engine. The modern powertrain not only boasts outstanding performance but also features lower noise levels, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced comfort.

To install the new engine into the FJ60 body, engineers at Toyota Motorsports Garage developed specialized mounts, an oil pan, and a wiring harness, as well as an adapter plate to connect to the original 5-speed transmission. The updated exhaust system added a distinctive sound to the vehicle. Additionally, the suspension was raised by nearly 4 cm and equipped with 35-inch off-road tires.

The appearance of the Turbo Trail Cruiser has changed little: designers retained the original body, even keeping the halogen headlights. The only modern elements in the interior are the JBL audio system and a touchscreen neatly integrated into the classic dashboard.

The Turbo Trail Cruiser will be one of the key exhibits at Toyota's booth at SEMA 2025, where more than two dozen concepts will also be presented, including the Camry XSE and Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu.
