Additionally, the launch occurred on the eve of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which is scheduled for October 31 - November 1 in South Korea.
The new Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, stated that the missile did not cross the country's exclusive economic zone. According to Kyodo, she instructed the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to gather information on the new launch from Pyongyang and conduct an analysis of it.
