Poet K. Tashbaev was born in the village of Shyrkyratma in the Soviet district of the Osh region in a peasant family. In 1953, he graduated from high school in his native village, and in 1965— from the journalism department of the Philological Faculty of KGU.
He began his work biography in 1953 as an accountant in his native collective farm.
From 1954 to 1957, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.
Since 1957, he has been working as a drilling worker in a geological exploration team, and in 1958 he was appointed the responsible secretary of the district newspaper "For Communism"
From 1965 to 1968, he was a literary employee at the editorial office of the Osh regional newspaper "Lenin yolu," from 1968— a correspondent for the newspaper "Leninchil zhash," and since 1976— for the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan pioneri" in the Osh region. Since 1976, he has been working as the responsible secretary of the Osh regional branch of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan.
He has been published since 1957. His first poetry collection "Kyrgyz toloru" ("Kyrgyz Mountains") was published in 1969. He is the author of several poetry collections published in his native and Russian languages. He translated the heroic poem "Blood and Ashes" by Yu. Martsinkevichus (1983).
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1977, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1970, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1969.
