Poet S. Abdykadyrova was born in the village of Sary-Bulak in the Kalinin district of the Kirghiz SSR in a peasant family.
In 1949, she graduated from high school in her native village, in 1952 from the pedagogical college at the Kyrgyz Women's Teacher Training Institute, and in 1957 from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute named after V. V. Mayakovsky.
She began her career as a literary worker at the editorial office of the newspaper "Leninchil Zhas" in 1957, then worked at the editorial office of the magazine "Kyrgyzstan Ayaldary," as an editor at the State Committee for Television and Radio of the Kirghiz SSR, head of the art department at the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too," and since 1987 has been a correspondent for the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty."
She has been published since 1953. Her first poetry collection "Love Has Come" was released by the "Molodaya Gvardiya" publishing house in 1958 in Russian, and her first poetry collection in her native language was "Bulak" ("Spring"), published in 1959. The poet's works have been translated and published in the languages of the peoples of the fraternal republics, some of them have become known to German, English, Italian, and Japanese readers.
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1974, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1959.
She has been awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction," "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin," Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR, and Certificates from the Central Committee of the Komsomol and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan.
