Prose writer and poet T. Baigabulov was born in the village of Kyk-Kazyk in the present-day Talas district of the Talas region in a peasant family.
In 1937, he graduated from a seven-year school in his native village, in 1940 — from a pedagogical college in Frunze, in 1952 — (part-time) from the faculty of language and literature of the teacher training institute in Frunze, and in 1956 — from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute.
He began his working biography in 1940 as a teacher at Ken-Aral Secondary School in the Talas district.
In 1942, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army, where he commanded a platoon at the front.
In 1943, he was seriously wounded in the Battle of Stalingrad. From 1944, he worked as a teacher at a secondary school in his native village, where he continued to work from 1963 until his retirement.
In 1951, he was appointed editor of the newspaper "Lenin yolu" in the Pokrovsky district of the Talas region, from 1957 he served as head of the culture department of the Talas district executive committee, and from 1958 — as head of the department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Leninдик туу" in Talas.
He has been published since 1943. His first collection of poems "Менин досторум" ("My Friends") was published in 1952.
He has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1945, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1958, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1959.
He has been awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class, medals for bravery, for the defense of Stalingrad, for valiant labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the "Veteran of Labor" medal, a certificate of honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, and an honorary certificate from the Ministry of Education of the USSR. He has the badge "Excellence in Public Education of the Kyrgyz SSR".
