Prose Writer, Journalist Djapar Saatov

Prose writer, journalist Dzh. Saatov was born on February 15, 1930, in the village of Alchaluu, Chui region of the Kyrgyz SSR, in a peasant family.
In 1947, he graduated from Kyrgyz Secondary School No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze, and in 1952— the philological faculty of KGU.
He began his career in 1952 as a teacher at a secondary school.
Since 1952, he has been a correspondent, head of the department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Leninchil Zhas," and since 1961— an editor at the publishing house "Kyrgyzstan," deputy responsible secretary of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty," and since 1970 to the present— head of the department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Soviet Kyrgyzstan."
His creative biography in literature began in the mid-1950s. His first collection of stories "Yntaluu Baldar" ("Initiative Kids") was published in 1960. He is the author of several collections of novellas and stories, essays, and journalistic articles, relevant satirical stories, interludes, and humorous sketches.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1974).
Member of the CPSU since 1959, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1976, member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1958.
Awarded with a Certificate of Honor and a Certificate from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
