Prose writer Kudaibergen Dzhaparov


Prose writer K. Dzhaparov was born in the village of Saz in the Sokuluk district of the Kyrgyz SSR in a peasant family.
In 1947, he graduated from a seven-year school in his native village, in 1950 — from Kyrgyz Secondary School No. 5 named after A. S. Pushkin in Frunze, and in 1957 — from the philological faculty of KGU.
He began his labor biography in 1957 as a literary employee at the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too," where he headed the prose department from 1962.
From 1969, he worked as an editor at Kiruchpsdgiz and as an editor for Kyrgyz radio broadcasting.
Since 1979, he has been a senior correspondent, and since 1987 — the head of the department of artistic prose at the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyati."
He has been published since 1956. In 1959, his first book of stories and tales "Abysh" was published. K. Dzhaparov has written plays such as "Gordets" and "The Maiden's Revenge," among others. In 1979, his book "Spring Came to the City" was published in Russian.
He has been a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1963.
