Poet, prose writer, playwright Nasiridin Baytemirov


Poet, prose writer, playwright N. Baytemirov was born on April 14, 1916, in the village of Kegety, Chuy region of the Kyrgyz SSR, in a peasant family. From 1924 to 1933, he studied at a rural school, graduated from the zooveterinary institute in Frunze in 1937, and in 1955 graduated from the A. M. Gorky Literary Institute under the USSR Writers' Union in Moscow.
From 1937 to 1939, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army, and after demobilization until 1945, he worked as an accountant, zootechnician, Komsomol activist, teacher, and manager of a state farm branch...
In 1945, he was appointed a correspondent for the newspaper "Kyzyl Kyrgyzstan."
From 1947 to 1950 and from 1955 to 1967, he worked as a literary consultant for the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan, and from 1967 to 1978, he was a correspondent for the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyati."
He has been published since 1934. His first publication was a children's book "Zhomoktor" ("Tales"), released in 1939, followed by the novella "Azamat" in 1948, and the novel "Saltanat" in 1949. In his works "Akyrky ok" ("The Last Bullet"), "Zhyldyzkan," and "Taryh esteligi" ("Monument of History"), the writer reflected the complex processes of the establishment of socialism in Kyrgyz land, the struggle against the class enemy, and the specifics of collective farm construction. He is the author of several poetry collections, plays "Zhenikh," "Who is to Blame?," "Urkuya," and librettos for musical dramas and comedies "Caution, Bride!," "Young Heart," and is one of the creators of the full-length feature film "Bow to the Fire." His works have been published in Russian and Ukrainian, and some works have been published abroad. He translated several works of M. Y. Lermontov, V. V. Mayakovsky, A. Navoi, P. Neruda, and others into Kyrgyz.

In 1984, N. Baytemirov was awarded the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR named after Toktogul Satylganov for his poetry collection "Makhabatym—kanatym" ("My Love—My Wings").
Honored Worker of Public Education of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Awarded the Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples, "Badge of Honor," medals "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of V. I. Lenin's Birth," "Labor Veteran," and others, and Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR. Elected a member of the Frunze City Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan (1956).
