On April 16, 2014, a press conference was held at the "Kabar" news agency regarding the National Award "KYRGYZ TOURISM AWARDS" — an open competition for projects aimed at achievements in the development and promotion of tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Participants of the conference included:
the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic – Director of the Tourism Department – Chakiyev Maksat Zholdoshbekovich, and
a representative of the Kyrgyz Economic University – Begalieva Asel Subakunovna.
The goal of this competition is to develop tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic and to promote it worldwide.
The Director of the Tourism Department reported that an "Evaluation Commission" is being established for an objective assessment of the competition results, consisting of representatives from the Tourism Department, respected tourism industry professionals, independent experts, tourism consultants, and representatives of international organizations.
