Chorotegin (Choroев) Tynchtykbek Kadyrmambetovich (1959),

Kyrgyz. Born in the village of On-Archa, Tian Shan District, Naryn Region.

Graduated from the Faculty of History of KGU (1981), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (Tashkent, 1988).

Worked as a lecturer at KGU, research intern at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, senior lecturer, associate professor, head of the department, professor at KGNU, producer at the BBC (London), and since 2000 - employee of Radio Free Europe, professor at KNU named after J. Balasagyn.

Specialist in the field of Oriental Studies, Kyrgyz Studies, and Source Studies.

Academician of the Aitmatov Academy (1994).

Member of the Society of Historians of Kyrgyzstan. Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Uzbekistan in the field of science and technology (1989). Laureate of the Youth Union of Kyrgyzstan Prize in the field of science and technology (1992).

Published more than 200 scientific works, including 4 monographs and 6 textbooks.

Under his supervision, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
