Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kara-Oy, Talas District, Talas Region. Graduated from KSU (1972), postgraduate studies there as well (1975).
Worked as head of department, dean, vice-rector of KGNU, first deputy minister of education of the Kyrgyz Republic, rector of KGPU, rector of KGNU, since 2000 - chairman of the SNK of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in the field of geometry and topology. Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher Education (1993), Russian Academy of Social and Pedagogical Sciences (1995). Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1995). Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Kyrgyzstan (1981), Honorary Professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University and several other universities. Published more than 100 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 4 textbooks, and teaching aids.
Under his supervision, 2 doctoral and 10 candidate dissertations have been defended.
