Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kara-Suu, Aksy District, Jalal-Abad Region.
Graduated from KGU (1978), postgraduate studies at MSU (Moscow, 1983).
Worked as a teacher at a secondary school, lecturer at KGU, senior lecturer, head of department, dean, senior researcher, associate professor, professor, and since 1998 - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Osh State University. Specialist in the history of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia in the modern period (18th-19th centuries). Active member of the Central Asian People's Academy (CANP).
Published more than 120 scientific works, including 8 monographs, 6 textbooks, and educational-methodical manuals.
Under his supervision, 2 candidate dissertations have been defended.
