Kyrgyz. Born in Frunze.
Graduated from KSU (1952), postgraduate studies at the Institute of World Literature (1956).
Worked as a senior researcher, chief researcher, head of department, head of group, and since 1992 - head of the Department of Manas Studies at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialist in Kyrgyz literary studies and folklore.
Awarded medals of the USSR.
Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1995). More than 50 scientific works published, including 13 monographs.
Under her supervision, 13 candidate dissertations have been defended.
