Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic Akmatov Tashtanbek Akmatovich

Tashtanbek Akmatovich Akmatov — Kyrgyz state and political figure.
He was born in September 1938 in the village of Kok-Sai, Ton District, Issyk-Kul Region.
In 1969, he graduated from the Issyk-Kul Agricultural Technical School, and in 1977 — from the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute (by correspondence).
He worked as a shepherd for 33 years (1955—1987) at the collective farm named after the XII Party Congress in the Ton District of the Issyk-Kul Region, making a significant contribution to the development of sheep breeding in the republic.
Then, starting in 1987, his dizzying career began.
From August 8, 1987, he served as the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He was a deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in the 9th to 11th convocations from the Kyrgyz SSR.
People's Deputy of the USSR from 1989 to 1991.
From April 10, 1990, he was an advisor to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Since 1991, he has been the head of a farming enterprise in his native district of Kyrgyzstan.
From 1995 to 2001, he simultaneously served as the head of the Republican Farmers' Association of Kyrgyzstan.
