III Forum of Young Intellectuals "Youth of the CIS – Ecoculture and Tourism, Nature Protection, Innovations"
As part of the projects approved by the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS for 2014, implemented under the auspices and with the support of the Intergovernmental Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states (IFG), the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic is holding the III Forum of Young Intellectuals "Youth of the CIS – Ecoculture and Tourism, Nature Conservation, Innovations" from June 26 to 29, 2014, in Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, dedicated to the Year of Tourism in the CIS.
Since 2009, the Forum has served as a platform for dialogue among leaders of youth organizations, expert and creative young elites, representatives of intergovernmental bodies of the CIS, and relevant ministries of the Commonwealth countries.
The goals of the III Forum of Young Intellectuals are: to develop a common strategy for the development of the ecological movement and ecotourism among the youth of the Commonwealth countries for the future; to highlight issues of ecology and tourism in the youth environment; to foster intergovernmental cooperation in the development of forms and methods of youth cultural and educational tourism; to promote a healthy lifestyle and ecology among the youth; and to preserve historical and cultural heritage and natural resources in the Commonwealth space.
The tasks of the Forum include: creating a training and discussion platform for socially active youth; supporting joint initiatives and exchanging experiences among youth organizations; preparing intergovernmental youth projects on ecocultural tourism; attracting the attention of cultural, scientific, and media figures, as well as management and business systems, to support youth movements in addressing issues of ecocultural tourism in the Commonwealth countries.
The themes of the sections are: 1) Strategy for cooperation in nature conservation and ecocultural tourism; 2) Innovations and initiatives in nature conservation and ecocultural tourism; 3) Promoting environmental culture and ecocultural tourism among youth; 4) Strengthening the role of youth in preserving cultural heritage and developing cultural and educational tourism in the CIS countries (in cooperation with UNESCO).
The Forum will be attended by leaders of youth organizations from CIS countries aged 20 to 35, experts in ecology and tourism, cultural and natural heritage conservation, cultural and artistic figures, journalists, and others.
