Poet Dzhaparkul Alybaev


Poet Dzh. Alybaev was born on October 12, 1933, in the village of Birikken, Chui region of the Kirghiz SSR, in a peasant family.
In 1947, he graduated from a rural seven-year school, in 1950 — from the Frunze Pedagogical College, and in 1956 — from the Philological Faculty of KSU.
From 1950, he worked as a teacher at the Ken-Bulun eight-year school in the Issyk-Ata district.
From 1956 to 1965, he was a literary employee, and from 1984, he was the head of the department at the editorial office of the republican satirical magazine "Chalkan."
From 1965 to 1972, he served as a senior scientific editor in the culture and arts editorial office at KSE, a literary employee at the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty," and from 1978 to 1984, he was an editor, senior editor, and head of the original fiction department at the "Kyrgyzstan" publishing house.
Dzh. Alybaev's creative biography began in 1952. His first poetry collection "Gul jana tikenek" ("Roses and Thorns") was published in 1961. The main genre focus of his work is satire. He made a significant contribution to the formation and establishment of the ideological and artistic traditions of Kyrgyz satire. His satirical works are included in the anthology of Kyrgyz literature for high school, and they are studied at the philological faculties of universities in the republic. Dzh. Alybaev's works have been published in the newspaper "Pravda," and in magazines such as "Krokodil," "Zvezda," "Studencheskiy Meridian," the Ukrainian literary-art magazine "Ukraina," the Belarusian magazine "Polymia," the Slovak magazine "Rogache," and the German "Eulenspiegel" (GDR). He translated into Kyrgyz the poem "Dead Souls" by N. V. Gogol, the comedy "Get a Grip, Christopher!" by Romanian playwright-comedian G. Baranga, the novella "Born of the Revolution" by Mongolian writer S. Udval, the novella "And the Dawns Here Are Quiet" by V. Vasilyev, stories by V. Bolshakov, as well as works by Soviet poets A. Surkov, R. Gamzatov, B. Stepanyuk, and others.
He has been a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1970 and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1958.
He was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR and an Honorary Certificate from the State Committee for Publishing of the USSR.
