Poet A. Belekov was born on February 1, 1928, in the village of Korumdu, Issyk-Kul District, Issyk-Kul Region, in a poor family.
In 1943, he graduated from Toktogul Satylganov Secondary School in the village of Temirovka, and then studied for a while at short-term teacher training courses. From 1948 to 1952, he studied at the Faculty of Kyrgyz Language and Literature at the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute, and from 1957 to 1959, he was a student at the Higher Literary Courses under the Union of Soviet Writers in Moscow.
He began his labor biography as a teacher at Taldy-Suy Secondary School in the At-Bashinsky District, later becoming its director and deputy director.
In 1952, he was sent as a teacher to Kurmentin Secondary School in the Tyup District of the Issyk-Kul Region.
From 1946 to 1948, he worked as a special correspondent for the newspaper "Ysyk-Kel Pravdasy," from 1953 to 1955 he was an editor at Kyrgyzuchpedgiz, from 1955 to 1957 and from 1972 to 1973 he served as a literary consultant in the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan, from 1957 to 1959 he worked at the editorial office of the magazine "Chalkan," from 1961 to 1972 he was at the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too," and from 1973 to 1975 he was a correspondent for the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty."
His creative path began in the 1940s. In 1954, his first poetry collection "Aikyn Jol" ("Clear Path") was published, and his works have also been published in Russian. He translated poems by M. Yu. Lermontov, R. Gamzatov, S. Marshak, and others into Kyrgyz.
He has been a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1947.
