Poet M. Tursunaliev was born on January 11, 1926, in the village of Alchaluu, Chui region of the Kirghiz SSR, in a family of a livestock breeder. In 1944, he graduated from high school in his native village, and in 1952, he studied at the philological faculty of KRU. From 1944 to 1950, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. From 1950 to 1952, he worked as the secretary of the board in his native collective farm. From 1954 to 1957, he worked as the head of a department and responsible secretary at the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyzyl Kyrgyzstan," and from 1957 to 1986, he served as a literary employee, senior editor, head of a department, and responsible secretary at the editorial office of the magazine "Chalkan." M. Tursunaliev primarily works in the genre of satirical poetry. His first poetry collection "Taanyshuu" ("Acquaintance") was published in 1961. In his works, the satirical poet criticizes negative phenomena in society: bureaucratism, mismanagement, alcoholism, careerism, and others. The poet's satirical poems have been published in the pages of "Krokodil," "Krestyanka," "Ogonyok," and in the press of fraternal republics.
M. Tursunaliev's journalistic poems "Lenin and the World" and "Conversation with Comrade Lenin" have enriched Kyrgyz Leniniana. The poet's works have been published in Russian. He actively participated in the translation and publication of collective collections.
A member of the CPSU since 1962, a member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1962.
He has been awarded medals "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "For Victory over Japan," "30 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR," "20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "Labor Veteran," and Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR.
