Poet, translator Nikolai ImshenetckiyPoet and translator N. Imshenetckiy was born on
July 18, 1918, in the village of Buras (now the village of Bolshaya Vladimirovna) in the Pavlodar region of the Kazakh SSR, in a tailor's family.
Since 1926, he has lived in Kyrgyzstan. In 1936, he graduated from high school, and in 1939— from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute. In the same year, he was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army and participated in the Great Patriotic War.
His creative biography began in 1949. In 1950, his first book was published — a collection of poems and songs titled "From the Bottom of My Heart." He translated the works of A. Toktomushev, A. Berdibayev, and T. Shamsiyev into Russian.
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1946, he became a member of the Union of Soviet Writers in 1957.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and many medals of the USSR, as well as a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
