
Prose writer, poet, screenwriter, translator L. Dyadyuchenko was born on February 16, 1934, in Leningrad in a military family.
Since 1938, he has lived in Frunze. In 1952, he graduated from Frunze Secondary School No. 6, and in 1957, he graduated from the mining and geology faculty of the FPI.
He began his career as a geological engineer at the Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Since 1961, he worked as a special correspondent for the newspaper "Soviet Kyrgyzstan" in the Osh region, as a literary collaborator for the magazine "Literary Kyrgyzstan," and for many years engaged in editorial work at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio.
Since 1957, he has been publishing selections of poems and essays in the republic's newspapers and magazines.
In 1962, his poetry collection "Thirst" was published, and in 1967—his first collection of essays about the people of Kyrgyzstan "The Guide from Charvak." He is the author of several documentary novellas, short stories, and scripts for documentary and feature films. A prominent place in the writer's work is occupied by the chronicle novel "A Pearl in the Barracks Wall."
Based on literary scripts by L. Dyadyuchenko, the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio produced feature-length films and documentaries such as "Waterfall" (1974), "The Eye of the Needle" (1976), "The First" (1974), "Soviet Kyrgyzstan" (1974), "Koshoy-Tash" (1980), "Your Day, Republic!" (1984), and dozens of short documentary and popular science films and film essays.
He translated works by A. Tokombaev, T. Umetaliev, T. Kozhomberdiev, M. Abylkasyimova, S. Akmatbekova, and others into Russian.
The novella "Scarabaeus" was awarded the All-Union Literary Prize named after N. Ostrovsky in 1974.
He has been a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1966, a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1971, and a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR since 1975.
