Poet, Prose Writer Israil Sulaymanov
Poet and prose writer I. Sulaymanov was born in the village of Taldyk in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region into a poor family. In 1934-1935, he studied at the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical College, and in 1955, he graduated from the Osh Pedagogical Institute.
He began his labor biography as a teacher at the primary school "Bakdjar" in the Kara-Suu district.
From 1940 to 1946, he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army, and during the Great Patriotic War, he was at the front.
Since 1946, he worked as a teacher at the Taldyk Seven-Year School named after S. M. Kirov. From 1957 to 1967, he collaborated with the printed media in the Osh region, and from 1967 to 1971, he was a literary consultant, and from 1971 to 1976, he served as the responsible secretary of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan for the Osh region.
He has been published since 1952. His first poetry collection "Ak bula" ("White Cotton") was published in 1963. He is the author of several collections of novellas and short stories.
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1958 and a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1967.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II class, medals "For Military Merit," "For the Capture of Berlin," "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "For Diligent Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin," and "Veteran of Labor."
