Akylbekov Sabyrbek Mambetsadykovich



Painter. Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR. Born on February 15, 1914, in the village of Kum-Aryk, Kalinin District. In 1932, he graduated from the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical Technical School.

From 1934 to 1935, he taught at Kyrgyz School No. 5 named after A.S. Pushkin in the city of Frunze. During this time, he became close to artists S. Chuykov, L. Kasatkin, A. Ignatiev, and G. Aitiev.

From 1936 to 1938, he studied at the Moscow Art School "In Memory of 1905" under the famous landscape painters P.I. Petrovichev and N.L. Krymov. He participated in the first Republican Art Exhibition in 1934.

Since 1934, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Akylbekov is a complete and early-formed artist, one of the bright representatives of the first generation of artists in Kyrgyzstan. He entered the history of Kyrgyz visual art as a master of lyrical landscape. Through his creative, pedagogical, and public activities, he made a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyz visual art.

He was awarded the Order of the "Badge of Honor," five Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR, and a Certificate from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.

Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in museums of the CIS.
