Amankozhoev Kubanychbek
Painter. Born on February 19, 1934, in the village of Chayek, Jumgal District, Tian Shan region. In 1954, he graduated from the Frunze Art School. From 1954 to 1957, he studied at the painting faculty of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov.
Since 1958, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
He worked mainly in genre painting and landscape, and less frequently in portraiture. K. Amankozhoev, distinguished in his time by bold experiments in conveying natural states, which he always combined with genre motifs, was the first among Kyrgyz artists to move away from tonal painting, characteristic of the founders of Kyrgyz art, placing special emphasis on the decorative uplift of the color palette.
Participant in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions. His works are held in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev, as well as in museums of the CIS.
