Prose writer, playwright Shukurбек Beishenaliev


Prose writer and playwright Sh. Beishenaliev was born in the village of Kurtka in the current Ak-Talinsky district of the Naryn region into a peasant family. In 1943, he graduated from the incomplete secondary school named after Togolok Moldo in his native village, and in 1952, he graduated from the philological faculty of KGU. From 1962 to 1964, he was a student at the Higher Literary Courses under the Union of Soviet Writers in Moscow.
He began his labor biography as a teacher at an incomplete secondary school in the Ak-Talinsky district and later served as its director. From 1952, he worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences, from 1954 as the secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan, from 1956 as the chief editor of the magazine "Zhas Leninchi," and from 1964 as the chief editor of the magazine "Ala-Too," as well as the responsible editor of the newspaper "Leninchil Zhas." From 1959 to 1964, he was the secretary of the board of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan, and from 1968 to 1986, he served as the deputy chairman and chairman of the Presidium of the Kyrgyz branch of the Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
At the age of 13, Sh. Beishenaliev became a young correspondent for the district newspaper "Kolhozchu." In 1950, he published the novella "Chynygy dostuk" ("True Friendship"). The writer is the author of the novels "Taalai zholu" ("Path to Happiness") (1962), "Bolot kalem" ("Steel Pen") (1981), and "Danka zharasha zhuk" ("Burden of Glory") (1973).
His works "Kychan," "White Camel," "Horned Lamb," "Swallow," "Amanat," "Son of Sarbai," and others became the heritage of Soviet children and children from foreign countries. Sh. Beishenaliev's books have been translated into the languages of the peoples of the fraternal republics, as well as into many languages of the world. He is the author of the plays "Kychan," "Bachelors," "Friend," and others. He has translated the stories of L. N. Tolstoy, M. Sholokhov, K. Fedin, and the plays of A. P. Chekhov, H. Ibsen, and others into Kyrgyz.
In 1976, the book "Horned Lamb" was awarded the International Honorary Diploma named after H. X. Andersen, and in 1982, he received the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR named after Toktogul Satylganov.

Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1950, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1951.
Awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples, medals "For Valorous Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," "For Labor Distinction," "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin," "40 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR, as well as medals from Czechoslovakia, Mongolia, the World Peace Council, the Honorary Badge "For Contribution to the Cause of Peace," and others.
Elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR of the 10th convocation.
