Poet, Prose Writer Mar Aliev


Poet and prose writer M. Aliev was born on July 14, 1932, in the village of Kochkorka, Kochkorka District, Naryn Region, in the family of a civil servant.
In 1950, he graduated from Kalinin Secondary School in the village of Kochkorka, and in 1958— from the sanitary-hygienic faculty of KGMU.
He began his career in 1950 as a clerical worker at the Kochkorka District Court, later working as a librarian at the district library.
In 1958, he was assigned to the Tian Shan Regional Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in the city of Naryn as an epidemiologist, and in 1960, he was transferred to the Kochkorka District Hospital as a bacteriologist. In the same year, he was appointed the responsible secretary of the medical journal "Den Sooluk".
Since 1969, he worked as the head of the chemistry, biology, and medicine editorial board at KSE, and since 1970, he has been the chief editor of the journal "Den Sooluk".
The beginning of M. Aliev's creative path dates back to 1952. His first book—a collection of stories "Aynektegi jazuu" ("Inscription on Glass")—was published in 1963. He is also the author of several poetry collections. The writer's works have been translated and published in Uzbek. He is also credited with translating N. Amosov's book "Thoughts and Heart" into Kyrgyz, as well as works by S. Akhundov and Korean writer Kim Den She.
Honored Worker of Health of the Kyrgyz SSR (1982), Distinguished Health Worker of the USSR (1973).
Member of the CPSU since 1967, member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1983, member of the USSR Union of Journalists since 1962.
Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
