Poet, Prose Writer Isabek IsakovPoet and prose writer I. Isakov was born on September 1, 1933, in
the village of Kochkorka, Kochkorka District, Naryn Region, in a carpenter's family.
In 1950, he graduated from high school in his native village, in 1952 — from the Frunze Teacher Training Institute, and in 1958 — from the correspondence course of the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute.
From 1952, he worked as the head of the department at the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Pioneri," from 1956 — as the responsible secretary of this newspaper, from 1967 — as the responsible secretary at the editorial office of "Kyrgyzstan Madaniyaty," from 1971 — as the deputy chief editor, and from 1973 to 1985 — as the chief editor of this newspaper.
From 1985 to 1987, he was a literary employee at the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too."
His creative biography began in 1952. The theme of childhood is central in the writer's work. His first collection of poems "Oroz Menen Koroz" ("Oroz and the Rooster") was published in 1959.
In 1960, he released a prose collection "Tursundun Joruktary" ("The Pranks of Tursun"). I. Isakov's books have been published in Russian, Kazakh, and Azerbaijani languages. He has translated works by S. Stalsky, R. Gamzatov, and several collective collections into Kyrgyz.
He is a Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1983).
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1958, a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1963, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1963.
He has been awarded Honorary Certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Central Committee of the Komsomol, and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan.
He is an excellent worker of public education of the Kyrgyz SSR.
