Poet T. Samudинов was born on September 5, 1941, in the village of Sokuluk (now the city of Shopokov) in the Sokuluk district of the Kyrgyz SSR to a family of civil servants. In 1958, he graduated from the October Secondary School in the Sokuluk district, and in 1963, he graduated from the journalism department of the philological faculty of KGU.
He began his career in 1963 as an editor in the publishing department of the N. G. Chernyshevsky RSL, worked as an editor in the State Committee for Television and Radio of the Kyrgyz SSR, and from 1968, he served as a senior literary worker, head of the department, and deputy editor of the newspaper "Leninchil zhash."
Since 1976, he has been the chief editor of the children's magazine "Baichchekey."
He has been published since 1963. His first poetry collection "Toolor gana kerushpейт" ("Only the Mountains Do Not Meet") was published in 1971.
A prominent place in the poet's work is occupied by satirical poems and parodies. He is the author of several poetry collections published in his native language and in Russian. Some of his works have been translated and published in Ukrainian, Kazakh, English, Spanish, Bulgarian, and other languages. He has translated poems by V. Ikber. He actively participated in the publication of many translated collective collections.
He has been a member of the CPSU since 1974, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1978, and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR since 1971.
He has been awarded three Certificates of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Elected as a candidate member of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan (1986).
