Poet K. Junushev was born in the village of Kosh-Dyube in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region in a peasant family.
In 1958, he graduated from the "Elektr" secondary school in his native village, and in 1963, he graduated from the agronomy faculty of the Kyrgyz State Agricultural Institute named after K. I. Skryabin.
In 1963, he was assigned to the collective farm named after Zhdanov in the Tian-Shan district of the Naryn region as the chief agronomist.
From 1965, he worked as a soil engineer at the design institute "Kyrgyzgiprozem," from 1977 as a senior researcher at the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Soil Science, from 1984 as the director of the "Arashan" creative house, and since 1986, he has been a consultant for the Naryn region of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan.
He has been published since 1960. His first poetry collection "Boyokchu" ("Decorator") was published in 1964. The poetry collection "Single-Seat Airplane" was released in Russian in 1974. Individual poems by the poet have been published in the press of fraternal republics. He has translated works by K. Chukovsky, Ya. Akim, and S. Mikhalkov into Kyrgyz.
Member of the USSR Writers' Union since 1979.
