Poet Rosa Mukasheva
Poet R. Mukasheva was born in the village of Bokonbaev in the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region in a peasant family. In 1966, she graduated from A. M. Gorky Secondary School in her native village, and in 1971, she graduated from the technological faculty of the FPI.
She began her career as a technology engineer at a canning factory in the Sokuluk district, and from 1973, she worked as an editor in the industrial department of the State Committee for Television and Radio of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1981, she was the head of the literary association "Zhash tolkun" at the editorial office of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Pioneri" and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan.
She has been writing poetry since early childhood and has been published since 1968. Her first poetry collection "Zhashtygym menin — zhashyl yert" ("My Youth — the Green Flame") was published in 1972. Some of her poems have been translated into Russian and Kazakh.
She has been a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1980.
