
Poet T. Adashbaev was born in the village of Mazar in the Ala-Buka district of the Osh region into a peasant family. In 1957, he graduated from the "Kyzyl" secondary school in his native village, and in 1963, he graduated from the journalism faculty of Tashkent State University. From 1980 to 1982, he was a listener at the Higher Party School of the CPSU in Moscow.
From 1963 to 1973 and from 1977 to 1979, he worked as a literary employee at the editorial office of the Uzbek regional newspaper "Lenin Yuli" in the city of Osh, and from 1973 to 1977, he served as the editor of the Osh regional committee for television and radio broadcasting.
Since 1987, he has been the chief editor of the "Yulduzcha" publishing house in Tashkent.
He has been publishing since 1957 and writes in Uzbek and Kyrgyz. The poet's works are mainly dedicated to children.
In 1964, his first poetry collection "Yabloko Kamala" was published in Uzbek, and in 1972, "Ala-Tooluk bolomun" ("I am from Ala-Too") was published in Kyrgyz. A. Adashbaev also works productively in the field of artistic translation of works by Kyrgyz writers into Uzbek.
He has been a member of the CPSU since 1965 and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1966.
