Poet, Translator Orozbay Sulaymanov

He began his labor biography in 1946 as the director of the Toktogul Satylganov High School in Gulcha (Alaï district of Osh region).
From 1950, he worked as a teacher at the Osh Teacher's Institute, from 1951 to 1953— as the director of the high school in the village of Novorossiysk, from 1954— as a correspondent for the republican radio committee, and from 1956 to 1959— as an editor at the "Mektep" publishing house. Then, from 1961 to 1970— as an editor at the Frunze television studio, and from 1970— as a translator for the district newspaper "Narodnaya Tribuna," and since 1973 he has been a senior editor at the "Kyrgyzstan" publishing house.
O. Sulaymanov began his creative biography in the 1950s as a poet. His first poetry collection "Viz da Durov bolobuz" ("We Will Also Be Durovites") was published in 1960. He is the author of five poetry collections. He has translated works by A. Barto, V. Zhukovsky, selected poems of Li Bo, and others.
He has been a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1985.
