Sagymbekov Bazar Kul
Editor, screenwriter. Born on December 10, 1924, in the area of Dzher-Uy in the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region. He was raised and studied until 1940 in the Cholbas Kyrgyz Communist orphanage in Ukraine.
In 1945, he served as a sailor in the Issyk-Kul shipping company. In 1946, he entered the Frunze Automobile Road Technical School. From 1947 to 1950, he worked in the editorial offices of the republican newspapers "Kyrgyzstan Pioneri," "Leninchil Zhas" as a literary employee, special correspondent, head of department, responsible secretary, and editor-translator. He graduated from high school externally and studied at the screenplay faculty of VGIK in Moscow from 1950 to 1951. From 1951 to 1955, he attended the evening department of the philological faculty of Kyrgyz State University.
In 1952-1953, he was again a literary employee and translator for the newspaper "Leninchil Zhas." In 1953-1954, he was a lecturer in the Kyrgyz language at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute and a literary employee for the newspaper "Kyzyl Kyrgyzstan." From September 1955 to July 1956, he was the responsible secretary of the magazine "Mugalimderge Zhardam." Since February 1958, he has been the senior editor of dubbing at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio.
B. Sagymbekov is the author of the translation into Kyrgyz of L. Leonov's novel "Russian Forest," Yu. Smuul's "Ice Book," I. S. Turgenev's novel "Rudin," stories by A. Zegers, and V. Tevekelian's novel "When Rivers Overflow."
During his 20 years at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio, B. Sagymbekov translated 150 of the best Soviet and foreign films into Kyrgyz, edited 700 dubbed and subtitled films in Kyrgyz. He was also the editor of dubbed newsreels "News of the Day," "Science and Technology," "Soviet Kyrgyzstan," "Agriculture," and numerous essays.
In 1965, based on the screenplay by B. Sagymbekov (co-authored with V. Shershtyuk), director M. Kovalev produced the feature film "Everyone Has Their Own Road," dedicated to the theme of the working class. In 1978, based on the screenplay by the screenwriter, director A. Baitemirov filmed the documentary "People's Poet" about the outstanding master of Kyrgyz literature T. Umetaliev.
Awards — badge "Excellence in Cinematography of the USSR" (1969). Medal "For Valorous Labor. In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin" (1970).
Member of the USSR Union of Cinematographers since 1963.
