Baijiev Mar Tashimovich
Film playwright. Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1966. Born on March 23, 1935, in the city of Jalal-Abad to a family of an educator and a writer. He received his secondary education from 1944 to 1954 in the city of Frunze. From 1955 to 1960, he studied at the Russian department of the philological faculty of Kyrgyz State University. In 1961-1962, he was the editor of the chronicle and senior editor for feature films at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio. Since 1964, after graduating from the Higher Scriptwriting Courses in Moscow, he worked as the deputy head of the Arts Department and the chief editor of the repertoire editorial board of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1971 to 1975, he was a correspondent for "Literaturnaya Gazeta" in Kyrgyzstan.
M. Baijiev began his creative career in 1956 as a critic and translator from Kyrgyz to Russian and from Russian to Kyrgyz. In the 1960s, collections of his short stories and novellas "Kara-Kurt," "Tropa" (both in Kyrgyz), "Vozvrashchenie," "Chuzhoe schastye" (both in Russian) were published. At the same time, his plays "Vozmuzhavshie," "Duelya" were successfully staged in professional and folk theaters of Kyrgyzstan, other Central Asian republics, and Kazakhstan. The latter was included in the repertoire of theaters named after Mossovet, Pushkin in Moscow, as well as several theaters in Leningrad, Tashkent, Riga, Tbilisi, Baku, Kyiv, Almaty, and other cities.
"Duelya" attracted the attention of theater groups from Poland, Bulgaria, the GDR, Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, and others.
In the 1970s, M. Baijiev's plays "Drevnyaya skazka," "Zhenikh i nevestа" were performed in Frunze and other cities. In 1978, Central Television aired a teleplay based on M. Baijiev's play "My — muzhchiny." That same year, this play was published as a separate book by the "Iskusstvo" publishing house in Moscow and translated into the languages of the peoples of the USSR. Simultaneously, the "Sovetsky pisatel" publishing house released a collection of plays "My — muzhchiny." Earlier, the "Mektep" publishing house published a collection of interludes "Zabludshiy chelovek" (in Kyrgyz), and the "Molodaya gvardiya" published stories and novellas "Moya zolotaya rybka" (in Russian).
M. Baijiev is the author of scripts for several popular science and documentary films: "Velikiy epos" (1962, directed by L. Turusbekova), "Tvoi podrugi" (1962, directed by L. Turusbekova), "Tam, gde nachinayetsya nebo" (1963, directed by Zh. Rakhmatulin), "Muke" (1970, directed by S. Narymbetov)—about the life and creative path of the People's Artist of the USSR M. Ryskulov.
While studying at the Higher Scriptwriting Courses, M. Baijiev wrote a diploma script "Chuzhoe schastye" — about the life of a modern village, which was staged in 1978 at "Uzbekfilm" by director K. Kamalova.
The film received an award at the XII All-Union Film Festival in Ashgabat in 1979 for its vivid portrayal of the problems of modern village life.
The late 1970s marked a time of intensive activity for M. Baijiev in cinema. In 1977, based on the story "Oshibka," an eponymous film novella was created at "Kyrgyzfilm" by director G. Bazarov. In 1979, at the request of Central Television, a feature film "Liven" (dir. U. Nazarov) was produced at the "Uzbekfilm" studio. In 1980, at "Kyrgyzfilm," the film "Zolotaya osen" (dir. T. Okeev) was born based on the script of the talented film playwright.
The attention of filmmakers to the writer's work is due to the relevance of the moral and ethical themes he develops, his deep insight into the psychology of contemporaries, genuine sincerity, and great love for the working person.
