Chmonin Rudolf Nikolaevich
Editor. Member of the CPSU since 1962. Born on November 9, 1933, in the city of Gorky to a family of civil servants. He received his secondary education in the village of Georgievka in the Kurday district of the Jambyl region of the Kazakh SSR. From 1951 to 1956, he studied at Frunze in the philological faculty of KSU. Immediately after graduating from university, he became a literary employee at the newspaper "Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan," and in the following years, he served there as head of the department, responsible secretary, and deputy editor. From February to November 1964, he worked as a literary employee in the department of party life at the newspaper "Soviet Kyrgyzstan." He then became the editor of the chronicle at the "Kyrgyzfilm" studio. Since 1972, he has been the deputy chief editor of the studio.
R. Chmonin completed the Central Komsomol School in Moscow and a two-year correspondence course in journalism and photo-reporting.
In 1963, the Moscow publishing house "Molodaya Gvardiya" published his book about the famous shepherd in the republic, Rakhmatala Sartbaev, titled "Walking on Clouds." His extensive journalistic experience and knowledge of the specifics of documentary cinema determined R. Chmonin's successful screenplays— "Shepherd" and "Garden," for which films were made in 1966 and 1967, receiving wide recognition.
R. Chmonin's work as an editor proved to be particularly productive. He successfully worked in this capacity on such interesting essays as "Hippocratic Oath" (1965), "The Report is Not Finished" (1965), "Overlapping" (1966), "Kyial" (1968), "Naryn Stars" (1968), "Boom" (1969), "Muras" (1970), "Lava" (1970), "Post" (1972), and feature films "Bow to the Fire" (1972) by T. Okeeva, "Waterfall" (1973) by Yu. Boretsky, "Road to Kara-Kiyik" (1975), "Smile on Stone" (1974) by U. Ibragimov, "Red Apple" (1975) by T. Okeeva, "Field of Aysulu" (1976) by U. Ibragimov, "Ulan" (1977) by T. Okeeva.
Awards — Badge of the Central Committee of the Komsomol "Golden Ear" (for promoting agricultural professions among youth, 1965).

Member of the USSR Union of Cinematographers since 1977.
