Tokarev Mark Fedorovich


Film engineer. Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1955. Born on February 23, 1927, in the city of Baranovka, Zhytomyr region of the Ukrainian SSR in a working-class family. Since 1931, he lived in Leningrad. After completing 6 grades, he was evacuated in April 1942 to the Sverdlovsk region in the city of Kushva during the blockade. He graduated from high school in 1945 in Dnipropetrovsk. In 1950, he completed higher education at the Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers, specializing in sound engineering. From 1950 to 1953, he served as deputy head of the Osh regional film office. From 1953 to 1956, he was the deputy head of the Main Directorate of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR. From 1956 to 1964, he was the chief engineer of the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm." From 1964 to 1968, he served as deputy chairman of the State Committee for Cinematography under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR. Since 1968, he has been the head of the operational and technical department of the Main Directorate of Film Distribution and Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR, and since 1972, he has been the head of the technical department of the State Cinema of the Kyrgyz SSR.

M. Tokarev contributed to the development of the film network in Kyrgyzstan during the difficult post-war years.

As the chief engineer of the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm," he invested a lot of effort into its construction, equipment, and staffing. As deputy chairman of the State Committee for Cinematography under the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR, he paid great attention to the improvement of film technology in the republic's film network and at the studio. For more than a quarter of a century, he has been teaching future cinematographers at Vocational School No. 1 in Frunze.

Awards — Certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1962). Badge "Excellence in Cinematography of the USSR" (1965).

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR since 1960.
