Prose writer Kasym KaimovProse writer K. Kaimov was born on March 6, 1926, and passed away on July 13, 1989, in the village of Ozgorush, Talas district, Talas region, in a peasant-poor family.
In 1942, he graduated from 9th grade of secondary school, in 1945 — from the Frunze Teacher's Institute, and in 1949 — from the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute.
He began his work biography in 1942 as the responsible secretary of the Budennovsk district newspaper. While studying at the university, he collaborated with the newspaper "Leninchil zhash."
From 1949 to 1959, he worked as a translator for the regional newspaper "Lenin's Banner."
In 1952-1954, he served as the head of the department, and in 1955-1956, as the responsible secretary of the magazine "Zhash leninchi."
In 1954-1955, he was the editor of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Pioneer," from 1956, he was the chief editor of the magazine "Chalkan," and from 1959, he was the chief editor of the magazine "Ala-Too"; subsequently, from 1963, he served as the chief editor of the script editorial board of the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm," and from 1967, he was the chief editor of the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyaty."
In 1973, he was elected secretary of the board of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan, and from 1979 to 1987, he was a literary consultant for the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan in the Talas region.
In the early 1950s, K. Kaimov established himself as a master of satire. In 1955, his first book of stories "Sonku zholugushu" ("The Last Meeting") was published. A significant event in the writer's career was the novel "Atai," published in 1961. This novel, dedicated to the famous Kyrgyz singer-improviser A. Ogonbaev, has gone through several editions in the native language and has been published in Russian and Kazakh.
He was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1976).
A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1946, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1955.
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, two medals for labor distinction, and certificates of honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He was elected as a deputy of the Frunze City Council of People's Deputies (1969-1978).
